United States Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management

Mill Creek Campground Improvements Pre-Bid Questions https://sam.gov/ Notice ID: 140L1725R0002 Title: Y--BLM-CO GFO MILL CREEK CAMPGROUND EXPANSION

Q: Has a crane been approved to cross the bridge in the past?

A: Yes. In 2022, a crane was approved to install a larger (double vault) CXT toilet in the existing campground. 3 of the 4 crane configurations (see attached) were approved. The CXT toilet required in this project is smaller (single vault) than the one installed in 2022.

Q: Can the contractor drive the crane and other heavy equipment through the river instead of crossing the bridge?

A: No.

Q: Can the contractor obtain construction water from the river?

A: The US Bureau of Land Management does not regulate water use. Permission (Permits) to use water from the river falls under the authority of the State of Colorado - Division of Water Resources.

Q: Is a licensed professional surveyor required to stake out the project?

A: No. Clarification: Someone competent in surveying is required to stake out the project as required by section 02 20 00 SURVEY AND PROJECT STAKEOUT.

Q: Can you tell me if the nine signs needed (SIGN POSTS - CAMPSITE IDENTIFICATION) will need to be fabricated? Or are those fabricated by your team? These would be the camp identification sings that will be mounted to each site’s campsite.

A: See Section 12 93 00, paragraph 2.8 SIGN POSTS – CAMPSITE IDENTIFICATION.

Q: Can the concrete pads for the food storage lockers be pre-cast off site?

A: Yes. However, additional reinforcement (#3 rebar at 6 inches each way) and concrete thickness (8 inch continuous) will be required. Additionally, photographic documentation of the forms and reinforcement will be required. The slab must be placed on site without damage.

Q: Was the fence remove and replace?

A: The fence shall be demolished in accordance with the drawings and specifications. The fence is not being replaced.
