About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation Number 140L1725Q0023, a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) garbage collection contract for the Kremmling Field Office in Colorado. The Q&A addresses specific details about garbage container requirements for three recreational sites: Pumphouse, Radium Recreation Areas, State Bridge, and Warm Springs. The vendor responses indicate flexibility in container options, including:

For the larger recreation sites (Pumphouse and Radium), the requirement is (4) 3-cubic yard animal-proof dumpsters serviced every other week. For State Bridge and Warm Springs, (2) 3-cubic yard animal-proof dumpsters are needed, serviced weekly. Alternative options include (2) 6-cubic yard animal-proof dumpsters with similar service schedules, or on-call service with a minimum of 24 cubic yards of animal-proof dumpsters/roll-offs serviceable every 4 weeks. The contract seeks to maintain a total of 24 cubic yards of waste collection per month across these locations, with service running from April 1st to November 1st annually.

140L1725Q0023 - BLM-CO KFO Garbage Collection

Q: What are the specific sizes required for the three (3) sites and their frequencies?

A: It depends on what an entity can provide related to the size and number. At a minimum we would need (4) 3 cubic yard Animal Proof dumpsters for the larger Recreation Sites – Pumphouse and Radium Recreation Areas – services at least every other week. And (2) 3 cubic yard Animal Proof dumpsters at State Bridge and Warm Springs to be serviced weekly. The difference in service schedule is due to the size of the site restricting it to two dumpsters. We could give (2) 3 cubic yard Animal Proof dumpsters at all locations, serviced weekly a try for the remainder of this Fiscal Year.

Or it could be (2) 6-cubic yard Animal Proof Dumpsters, on same schedules options.

Likewise, if on call service we would need at a minimum 24 cubic yards Animal Proof dumpsters/roll-off that could be serviced every 4 weeks or on call at these sites.

Q: How many containers are at each location?

A: Dependent on the size that a company can provide. We would want a combination of 24 cubic yards per month at a minimum. There are just so many options out there that companies can or cannot provide.
