"Method 1", is this acceptable? Yes, this is acceptable.

Is there any hydrologic information that can be provided regrading the anticipated flows into/out of the reservoir? We would like this information in order to size our water control and bypass systems appropriately. In short, we would like to know what flows that can be anticipated both in terms of peak flow rates (that may need to be passed around the work area via gravity or mechanical pumping) and total volumes (that may need to be temporarily impounded) to prevent the work are from being inundated?

Know information is provided in specification SECTION

02600 DIVERSION AND CARE OF WATER; 1.04

SITE CONDITIONS. Contractor is responsible for the design of cofferdams and diversions including hydrology.

What is the current water surface elevation (post-controlled breach) as compared to the limits of excavation or other benchmark that can be referenced on the plans?

This varies. See Sheet BX2 for breach elevations, which dictate current high water conditions. As indicated in

Section 02600, 1.04, the water elevation due to the breach is about 7009 ft.

Does the existing pool in the reservoir need to be lowered and maintained to an elevation below the vertical limits of excavation for outlet works construction, or can the water surface elevation in the reservoir pool be higher than the elevation of the outlet works excavation(s) during construction? This will be up to the contractor's means and methods.

Can the existing controlled breach “channel” be enlarged by the contractor in order to accommodate water control and dewatering activities (i.e., can the breach area be further excavated to serve as a gravity bypass during construction)?

Yes, however additional excavation and embankment will be the responsibility of the contractor and not paid for separately. Cost should be included in the contractor's cost for Water Control and Dewatering.

Are there any requirements on how much water needs to be passed to the downstream waterway at any time during the construction period? No

Are there any limitations on how much water from within the reservoir and/or stream can be consumed for construction purposes? No

Is there any information available from which to estimate the total volume of water currently in the reservoir pool (acre-feet)?

No. Capacity is estimated at 589 acre-ft at Elev 7019.8 and 1,118 acre-ft at elevation 7025.5'

Are there limits on the borrow area excavation

(horizontal and/or vertical)?

Approximate horizontal limits are shown on Sheet C1.

There are no vertical limits; however excavations should allow for final site reclamation and grading.

Can the CAD file be provided to bidding contractors to assist in earthwork takeoffs?

CAD files will not be provided for bidding purposes.

Quantities shown in the bidding documents are based on

CAD surfaces and should be all inclusive.

Will the government allow contractors to work at times outside of 0700-1900 Monday-Friday (i.e., will work be allowed on non-holiday Saturdays)? yes, with GOVERNMENT approval.

The road gravel requires a PI of between 4-12. I have not located any gravel that will meet the specification.

Can Wyoming Type W gravel be accepted.

Road gravel with PI is desirable to minimize surface raveling. WYDOT Grading W is specified, but with PI.

File details come from the government source that posted it. Updated .
