1. Would you need NDAA only or TAA compliant camera brands A: All components should be both NDAA and TAA compliant. NDAA compliance means the cameras must not be made by or contain components from certain banned manufacturers (like Hikvision or Dahua) due to U.S. national security concerns, while TAA compliance means the cameras must be manufactured or substantially transformed in the U.S. or a trade agreement country—excluding nations like China or Russia. NDAA is focused on security risks, and TAA is focused on country of origin. Both may apply to federal contracts, especially those involving surveillance or GSA schedules.
2. Any brand Specific that the client would be interested in?
A: Some reliable camera brands that are both NDAA- and TAA-compliant—making them suitable for federal and government use—include Axis Communications (Sweden), Hanwha Vision (South Korea), Bosch Security (Germany), Avigilon (Canada/U.S.), Vicon Industries (U.S.), Digital Watchdog (U.S.), and FLIR (U.S.). These brands are known for high-quality surveillance systems, with features like advanced analytics, thermal imaging, and strong cybersecurity, and are widely used in federal buildings, municipalities, and critical infrastructure projects.
3. Can we attend a site visit?
A: Yes, a site visit has been scheduled for: Tuesday, July 2, 2025 at 10AM-11AM PST
Participants will meet at:
USGS Washington Water Science Center Field Services Facility 8914 Lakeview Avenue SW Lakewood, WA 98499
Please limit the number of individuals in your party to (2) and meet at entrance, sign vendor attendance sheet and wait to be escorted.
You must RSVP for the site visit no later than July 1, 2025 3PM PST to Yangzhi Deng, Contracting Officer at yangzhideng@usgs.gov.
If you have any questions after the site visit, please submit them to the Contracting Officer in writing by the July 2, 2025 3PM PST.
4. Assuming with Scope of work we are propably going to install cameras in high level can we have estimated guess as to get a lift or not?
A: Installation is not required, as the cameras should be mounted on a self-contained trailer unit with telescoping or adjustable-height masts designed for elevated positioning.

5. Would you like them for rental or purchase?
A: Rental.
6. Generator backup for the mobile or cellular with extended life batteries?
A: The units should be solar-powered and designed to be self-sufficient for operation. With adequate support and maintenance provided by the contractor, additional generator backup is not expected to be necessary.
