Text version

Q1: Can the contractor have a different wage based on experience for boat operators?

A1: The government will pay one fully burdened wage. How the contractor chooses to pay their contracted employees is the business of the contractor. It is the burden of the contractor to ensure that they are following all the laws in regard to minimum wage etc.

Q2: Will there be trainings allowed for sport boats?

A2: No, it is the burden of responsibility of the contractors to provide experienced sub-contractors.

However, the government does recognize that some of the government furnished equipment is highly specialized and are willing to provide it to the contractor so they can offer a familiarization of equipment with their new employees.

Q3: In previous contracts the total amount of the contract was released, for example the current Ceiba contract was a 3.5 million dollar contract, why is there not a total with this contract? Is possible to find this out?

A3: That info is in the clauses, page 35: It states max of IDIQ for $8,000,000.00. And first task order estimate is $600,000.00

Q4: Does the contractor need to be on the premise every time there is a sub-contracted employee on site?

A4: Yes, it is a requirement that the contractor or appointed Technical Liaison is present at GCMRC while they are on site, but are not required to be here for the entire duration if the boat operators are experienced and do not need lots of assistance. Contractors are not required to be present in the field.

Additional information provided:

Once all contracts are received there will be a committee from internal Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research employees including scientists, logistics employees and leadership that will evaluate each proposal individually.

There is a high level of professionalism that is expected of sub-contracted employees/boat operators. We will work closely with the contractor to ensure that all rules and regulation are being adhered to.
