About this file

The file is a comprehensive labor categories spreadsheet for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Southeast Region Science and Technical Support Services (STSS) contract. It details over 50 labor categories across multiple professional and technical roles, including Accounting Clerks, Biologists, Database Specialists, Engineers, GIS Specialists, Research Scientists, Technicians, and Writers/Editors. The document specifies labor categories by Service Contract Act (SCA) or Professional Service (PS) classification, with corresponding federal grade equivalents, general duty descriptions, and wage determination information for multiple locations across southeastern states including Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas.

The labor categories are structured with multiple skill levels (I-VII or II-V) for most roles, indicating progressively increasing responsibilities, experience requirements, and compensation. Wage determinations are tied to specific locations and dated through December 3, 2025, suggesting alignment with an upcoming USGS Southeast Region contract solicitation. The spreadsheet provides detailed insights into the labor categories' complexity, ranging from entry-level positions like Business Support Specialists and Technicians to advanced roles like Subject Matter Experts and Research Scientists, with requirements spanning from high school diplomas to PhDs and experience levels from 0-2 years to 15+ years of professional experience.
