About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation 140G0125Q0126, a demolition project by the USGS North Carolina Water Science Center. The Q&A addresses key contractor inquiries about bond requirements, permits, site access, and documentation. Specifically, the document confirms a payment bond is required (or an Irrevocable Letter of Credit is acceptable), and contractors must obtain all municipal and transportation permits while complying with federal, state, and municipal regulations.
The associated solicitation details a demolition and removal project for a discontinued data collection station located in Lenoir County, North Carolina. The project involves removing a reinforced concrete stilling well, headwall, and associated structures from the Yadkin River, with a 90-day performance period and an estimated value between $25,000 and $150,000. The solicitation is a small business set-aside with a NAICS code of 238910, scheduled for award on June 16, 2025, with quotes due by June 11, 2025. A mandatory site visit is planned for May 22, 2025, and vendors must be registered in SAM.gov to be eligible for award.
