140G0123Q0198 Amendment 002 Question and Answers
1. Regarding Amendment 001. The original specified system below achieves a 15 year manufacturer's warranty.
First Base Coat: 15 dry mils, allowed to fully cure before subsequent additional coating.
Second Base Coat: 15 dry mils, applied after complete cure of first base coat.
Topcoat: 18 dry mils, applied after complete cure of second base coat.
If you are only wanting a 7 year warranty. The manufacturer requires only two coats at the specified rates below. Are we to match the dry mil thickness required by the manufacturer to achieve the "7 year" warranty or follow the SOW which would exceed the manufacturer's requirements and be able to achieve a 15 year warranty? In addition the manufacturer would provide a 10 year warranty in lieu of the 7 year warranty. Liquid applied coating warranties typically come in 5 year increments. This specified system achieves 10 or 15 year warranty terms.
a. The SOW will be revised to only require a base coat and top coat. Reference Attachment 2 SOW_CERC PUF Roof Repair_Rev 2
