140G0122Q0051 Amendment 001 Questions and Answers
1) Is there flexibility in contract time? Lead times on equipment are excessive now.
a. Currently the solicitation notes a 60 day from notice-to-proceed delivery. We do understand there are lead time delays for many manufacturers due to Covid, etc and will work with the awardee on final delivery schedule.
2) How many cfms of exhaust from fume hoods and exhaust fan are in that room?
a. 4 hoods @ 1200 cfms = 4800 CFM at full sash opening
3) Are we to include controls cost in our price? If so please provide contact of facility controls contractor.
a. Yes they should be included. The controls company will have to work with the GC to make sure their equipment are compatible with the controls.
i. Control Service Company, 3621 NE Akin Dr, Lees Summit, MO 64064, 816-600-5800, sales@controlservice.com
4) Request for more information about the existing air-handler.
a. AHU-1: A 5270 CFM unit with a variable speed drive services the analytical laboratory. The unit maintains negative air pressure in the analytical laboratory in coordination with a general exhaust fan and four fume hoods located in the laboratory. Discharge temperature is maintained via preheat, reheat, and cooling coils in the unit to satisfy thermostat setting. 3-way control valves at the coils are used to modulate discharge air temperature. This unit uses 100% outside air with no return air.
