About this file

This government file outlines questions and answers regarding content needs for exhibit design services being procured through Solicitation Number 140FC224R0002 by the Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service. The file indicates existing photo, video, and audio assets are available from the refuge for virtual tours of the Wertheim cabin and other areas. Additional content will need to be developed for an interactive touch screen exhibit on topics like geologic history and coastal resilience projects. Photos exist for coastal restoration work but a more interactive experience is desired. No existing touch displays are present that could be continued for use. Photos of specific exhibit spaces may be requested.

Text version

1. Is there existing content for the Wertheim cabin and refuge virtual tours?

Yes. The refuge has an extensive historic image catalog, and limited audio and video assets. The assets currently in Service possession have rights secured by the Service. Additional assets may need to be acquired, but it is anticipated that those additional assets would be minimal. Service staff and volunteers could also be made available to acquire additional photos, videos and/or audio as needed to support virtual tours exhibit development.

2. What kind of content (ex: video, photo, text, etc…) will be added to the extended refuge material for “Voices of the Future?” - Does this content already exist?

Refuge staff envision a more interactive visitor experience for this space, ideally including an interactive touch screen through which visitors could explore additional refuge content not addressed elsewhere in the exhibit hall. Possible themes could include geologic history, indigenous communities, landscape use over time, and/or coastal resilience restoration projects.

Although the Service has (primarily photo and video) content to contribute toward this exhibit, some of this content will need to be developed – especially content related to abstract processes such as geologic history and coastal restoration.

3. What kind of updated content for exploring coastal restoration and resilience projects since Hurricane Sandy will be added to the “Green Building Solar Interface” exhibit? - Does this content already exist?

Photo and video assets currently exist, but the Service is looking for something more interactive than simply viewing video and photos of coastal restoration and resilience projects.

4. “Voices of the Future” will need new hardware (wall-mount touch display) but are existing touch displays intended for continued use?

There are current no existing touch displays in the visitor center. Any future integration of this technology should account for continued use.

5. May I please have any photos of the specific named spaces?
