About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for Amendment P0002 to the Kodiak Sheep Island Soil Clean Up contract. The document addresses five contractor inquiries regarding project requirements and specifications.

Key clarifications include: the period of performance extends from May 1, 2026 to August 30, 2027 (updated from the original June 30, 2026 end date); excavation restoration may be accomplished through sloping and grading without importing additional backfill, provided slopes remain below 10% and do not create hazards; compaction by placement equipment weight is acceptable rather than requiring in-situ testing to 95%; third-party utility locates are not necessary if the contractor conducts its own survey, with contractor responsibility for employee safety evaluation; and borings and wells may be located using GPS to submeter accuracy by field crew without requiring an Alaska Professional Land Surveyor to document final locations and elevations.
