About this file

This document is a Questions and Responses (Q&A) file for a Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) Request for Quote (RFQ) for the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge Installation of In-Ground Water Pump Project. The Q&A addresses two key inquiries submitted by offerors regarding project specifications and site conditions.

The first response clarifies that the current water level of the well is unknown, with the previous pump having included less than 60 feet of PVC pipe below ground. The Government will not provide additional measurements and has directed offerors to conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and verify field measurements that may affect pricing. The second response confirms that the scope of work requires furnishing and installing a new well seal—not a pitless adapter—that is compatible with the existing well casing and site conditions. Offerors are responsible for verifying field conditions during site visits and including all necessary materials and labor in their quotes. This Q&A document does not specify pricing terms, response dates, award dates, or contract vehicles.

FWS – Imperial NWR – Installation of In-Ground Water Pump Project

Solicitation (RFQ) Questions and Responses:

1. What is tge current water level of the well?

The current water level of the well is unknown. The previous well pump included less than 60 feet of PVC pipe below ground. Offerors were encouraged to attend the optional site visit to assess existing site conditions necessary to prepare an accurate quote. The Government will not provide additional measurements regarding the well water level. Offerors are responsible for verifying field conditions that may affect pricing.

2. After the job walk with Matt it was determined that the well needs a new “well seal” and not a

“pitless adaptor.”

The Government confirms that the required component is a well seal, not a pitless adapter. The scope of work shall include furnishing and installing a new well seal compatible with the existing well casing and site conditions. Offerors are responsible for verifying field conditions during the site visit and including all necessary materials and labor to complete the installation.
