Questions & Answers Generated

1. We would like to know if there has been a decision regarding the paint specification.

a. Paint color selection will be determined after the award of the contract.

2. Could you please confirm if a pre-bid site walk date has been set for this project?

a. There is no pre-bid date. The individualize scheduled site visit is considered the pre-bid meeting indicated in the Statement of Work (SOW).

3. Do we need to pressure wash all the concrete walkways?

a. YES, concrete walkways would be considered exterior surfaces. They should be cleaned, prepared, and painted per 2.1.2. This is addressed in the revised SOW.

4. For the wood posts - are we sanding and bringing back to original and stained/protected?

a. Answer addressed in Revised SOW. Contractor shall clean, prepare, and paint as an exterior surface per 2.1.2. Wood post should be painted not stained.

5. When were told to clean the surfaces to be painted I assume by that you mean pressure wash correct?

a. Yes, pressure wash. This is addressed in the revised SOW.

6. Stucco substrates really only need to be primed when its raw, unpainted, but all the stucco, as depicted in the pictures, has previously been painted. The only exception to this is if the stucco is chalky and in that case it would need primed. Please confirm whether it needs primed or not.

a. Yes, primed with tinted primer - This is addressed in the revised SOW.

7. Will the gutters, metal garage doors, doors, and columns be painted as well. If the gutters haven’t been painted before and are just factory finished, I wouldn’t recommend painting them because of the amount of abuse they take being metal and highly exposed to the elements. Same goes for the hurricane stow boxes and metal frames.

a. Yes, all considered exterior surfaces. Not sure if gutters are factory finished. All these surfaces would be painted as part of this project - This is addressed in the revised SOW.

8. Are there outlets available around the exterior of the buildings that can be used to connect paint sprayers. Are there water spigots available for pressure washing?

a. Power and water would be provided by the Government. Outlets around the SFR quarters are not to be used, but power can be used from our nearby garage area and extend to this building. Power outlets can be used in association with the Duplex building.

9. I do not see anywhere in the solicitation the desired colors to be used. If there is no preference applying 1 color throughout would save greatly on labor cost. If not 1 uniform color typically its one color for the walls and another second color for the trim which constitutes (Soffits, trim around windows, trim around doors, doors, and columns). If neither of the aforementioned options work, please provide colors to be used or the number of colors that there are.

a. Colors and number of colors would be selected once award is made.

Solicitation No.: 140FC124Q0012 Amendment 0001

10. What is the Color of hurricane shutter metal housing?

a. Paint color will be determined after award is made.

11. Will the Garage doors need to be painted?

a. Yes, cleaned, prepared and painted per the revised SOW.

12. Gutters and downspouts to be painted?

a. Yes, per the revised SOW.

13. What is the square footage for each building?

a. Duplex = 2,000sf

SFR = 2,083sf
