About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 140F0S26Q0028 for a Ridgefield Interpretive Exhibit.

The project requires design and construction of an interpretive exhibit with all work to be completed by December 31, 2027. There is no incumbent contractor, and an established budget range has been set for the project. The contracting agency has established a mandatory pre-bid site visit scheduled for June 10 at Pacific Standard Time; contractors unable to attend the scheduled visit must coordinate an alternative visit directly with Karen to ensure proper documentation. Reference materials including images of the current entry area and exhibit space (Amendment 0001), concept plans (Amendment 0002), Ivie's design plans (Amendment 0002), and building plans (Amendment 0001) have been provided to all potential contractors. The Q&A deadline has been extended to three days prior to proposal submission to allow contractors adequate time following the site visit to formulate and submit questions. The contracting agency expects the selected design team to use John Ivie's preliminary designs as a starting point while editing and revising the concepts rather than redesigning from the ground up.

First Round of Questions and Answers for 140F0S26Q0028, Ridgefield Interpretive Exhibit:

1. Is there an incumbent to this? No

2. Is there an established budget range for this project? Yes,

3. Is the site visit scheduled for June 10 mandatory for proponents? Yes

4. There is a request for a schedule, which I was about to do; however, I cannot find the dates you want this to be done by. I may have missed it. All work needs to be completed by December 31, 2027.

5. Would you share images of the current entry area as well as the exhibit space? Yes, it is attached to amendment 0001

6. Would you share the concept plan? Yes, provided in amendment 0002

7. Can I get a copy of Ivie’s plan? Yes, provided in amendment 0002

8. Can I get a copy of the building plans? Yes, it is in amendment 0001

9. Is the site visit mandatory? Yes, the site visit is mandatory for all potential contractors. If you are unable to attend the scheduled pre-bid site visit, please make arrangements to visit the Refuge at a time that works for you. Be sure to coordinate directly with Karen to ensure your visit is properly organized and documented. We want everyone bidding on the project to have a thorough understanding of the requirements, and the site visit is a great opportunity to ask questions and clarify details.

10. When will the first round of questions be posted? Questions and answers will be posted after the pre-bid site visit

11. Is there room in the schedule to extend the Q&A deadline a couple of days after the mandatory site visit? Yes, to help everyone make the most of the site visit and ensure there’s plenty of time to address any additional questions, I will extend the Q&A deadline to three days prior to proposal submissions. This should give all interested parties a comfortable window to gather insights during the site visit and finalize any remaining questions.

12. Are you expecting the new design team to redesign from the ground up or finish the design work based on the concepts you provided from John Ivie? We're expecting something more in the middle - we hope to use John Ivie's designs as a starting point for ideas but the design team would likely be editing and revising the concepts John Ivie provided

13. Pre-bid Site Visit: Is it Eastern Standard Time? No, it is Pacific Standard Time
