NCTC CARPET REPLACEMENT

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION -RFI

QUESTIONS ANSWERS

Q1. Can photos be provided of representative conditions?

A1. Yes, photos provided of representative conditions.

Attached .pdf for representative photos of the current areas work is to be performed

in. We (NCTC) will have all personal items in cubes will be moved off the floor, but the cubes and cabinets will remain and will be moved by the contractor. We (NCTC) will have all items in lodges (wood floor areas only) will be moved into adjacent corridors.

Q2. How long has the 2100 yards of Broadloom currently down been on the floor.

(If not exact, can you make a good faith approximation?

A2. Current carpet is original to the facility, constructed 1997-98. Professional cleaning and maintenance staffing ensures excellent carpet maintenance. Original Product sheet attached.

Q3. Area areas of carpeting coming off the floor (rippling or other non-flat areas) -seams, pathways?

A3. For the most part (99.9% or better) the current carpet is still down and attached with minimal issue and wear.

Q4. On areas of hardwood, is the material 3/4inch solid wood or engineered (laminate) wood. If others give descriptions. How many times before has the wood been refinished?

Any obvious deep or major cracks present?

A4. ¾” solid red oak. Current thickness just under ¾” as referenced in photo.

Q5. . Has asbestos been tested for or present?

A5. No asbestos at facility.

Q6. Schedule has potential conflicting required times. Are there specific times that the majority of the work is anticipated? If so, is that the prescribed "closed time"?

A6. Statement Of Work was written for an occupied facility. The facility is currently closed to all but minimal staffing, and has been since March 2020. We are still not ‘open for businesses, and current schedules do not have us opening for a few months.

Contract should be completed well before staffing resumes. Work times are highly flexible, to include days, nights and weekend availability.
