| Question Number | Questions | Answers |
| 1 | Is this a brand new contract or was there an incumbent performing these services? | This is a new requirement/contract for Patents. |
| 2 | The Yeti brand travel mug is 20 oz. |
The XXXX brand travel mug is 24 oz.
The shape and size are nominally the same, but XXXX's is slightly wider at the top and shorter, with the bottom of both capable of sitting in a standard cup holder.
are you interested in a quote on the XXXX brand, or are you only accepting quotes on the Yeti brand, or some direct knock-off of the Yeti (exact copy).
| I saw the RFQ said Yeti Brand or Equal, but would the slight differences in the XXXX's size and shape deem theirs not equal or not acceptable? Will a bid on the XXXX be accepted and considered? | To be considered for award, Quoters are expected to submit a quote that includes a travel mug offering that meets the Salient Characteristics (Yeti or Equal) described in the Statement of Work (SOW) Section 3.2. Please note that two of the salient characteristics, dimensions and weight (empty) are approximates. | ||
| 3 | Will these be shipped directly to each employee individually, or shipped in bulk to a distribution location within your system, or multiple quantities to several distribution points? | The Contractor shall be able to commercially ship to multiple individual addresses to all 50 U.S. states and territories. See SOW Section 3.6 Packaging and Shipping. Is it very likely that each mug will have a unique mailing address. | |
| 4 | Are there any challenges that the Governement has run into with this opportunity that a Quoter should keep in mind and work on getting ahead of before submitting a quote for this opportunity? | The Government does not anticipate any challenges with this requirement. This is a new requirement for Patents. Quoters are expected to carefully read the statement of work (SOW) to best understand the requirement. | |
| 5 | The mugs fitting the exact specifications that the Agency desires at a reasonable price often go in and out of stock. If the mug the contractor proposed is no longer in stock by the time Agency awards, will Agency be willing to discuss alternative mugs or an alternative timeline? | No, the Contractor must ensure that the same mug quoted is readily available from award throughout production/delivery. Therefore an alternative timeline is not open for discussion. | |
| 6 | Will the Agency be open to alternate mug specifications if they have similar salient characteristics like [stainless steel, navy blue, 20oz, double wall insulated]? | The government will accept a mug offering as long as it meets the Salient Characteristics described SOW 3.2 section. | |
| 7 | What variable data (i.e. personalized information) of any kind does the letter contain? | The Government doen't understand what you are asking. However, if you are asking if the letter will have a name/address. The answer is no. The letter to be sent to each recipient will contain no personal information See SOW section 3.3, Agency Letter. | |
| 8 | Please provide a list of the number of shipments expected in each shipping zone so the contractor may price out shipping appropriately. | The Government cannot provide that information prior to contract award. However, the Contractor shall be able to commercially ship to multiple individual addresses to all 50 U.S. states and territories. See SOW Section 3.6 Packaging and Shipping. Is it very likely that each mug will have a unique mailing address. | |
| 9 | Please clarify if the laser engraving is expected to be in color. | There is no color in the laser engraving, the laser engraving shows the stainless where it has been engraved. See SOW section 3.4 Engraving and Electronic Sample | |
| 10 | Section 3.6 notes delivery of mugs shall be 7 business days but section 6 (deliverables) that refers to section 3.6 notes guaranteed delivery within 2 or 3 business days. Please clarify whether guaranteed delivery is 2-3 or 7 business days. | The SOW section 6, Deliverable, table will be updated to correct the delivery method for section 3.6. The delivery needs to be accomplished within seven (7) business days in accordance with SOW section 3.6. | |
| 11 | It is uncommon for small businesses to have the quantity of mugs readily available upon award. Will Agency grant the awardee reasonable time to acquire the mugs before contract start? | All Contractors are required to meet the project deliverable schdule. See SOW section 4, Project Deliverable Schedule. | |
| 12 | Is the full order of 11,200 travel mugs expected to be completed and ready for shipment within 19 business days after the submission of final approval? |
Will the full order of 11,200 travel mugs be going to one single location or will it be going to multiple locations throughout the United States? I just want to be sure I submit with the most accurate information possible. Yes, The USPTO requires the contractor to manufacture the full 11,200 travel mugs under CLIN 0002 in 19 business days after submission of final approval.
The Contractor shall be able to ship to all 50 U.S. states and territories.
