The solicitation seeks a contractor to install 2,268 linear feet of 42-inch high, 3-rail fencing with specific material requirements, including white cedar railings and locust posts with wedge/paddle ends. All posts must be dirt tamped in place, and the contractor is responsible for removing and disposing of existing wood fencing. The work is to be completed Monday through Friday, with no work permitted on state or federal holidays without prior approval from the Director of Culture, Parks and Recreation Department. The vendor Q&A period runs from January 18, 2023, to February 2, 2023, and sealed proposals are due by 10:30 AM EST on February 9, 2023, to be submitted to Amy Meriwether, Director of Finance, at 933 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT 06070.
The RFP is open to all vendors, with no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise preferences mentioned. Bidding documents are available electronically through the town's website, and no physical copies will be mailed or faxed. Delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be vendor-specified. No estimated total value or budget range is provided, and the solicitation has been designated as having no line items. The project requires minimal disruption to trail users and appears to be a single-phase fencing replacement with no indications of potential renewals or extensions. Thomas Tyburski from the Department of Culture, Parks and Recreation serves as the primary contact for technical questions.
