COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION 1305M223QNMAN0170

Vendor Questions:

Question No. 1:

How does section 4.5.8.2 apply to a systems integrator using COTS equipment from multiple vendors?

Answer:

Paragraph 4.5.8.2 has been revised. The new the General Alarm, Public Address, and Dial Telephone Systems specification is a turn-key approach with one vendor designing and installing a new system in accordance with the specification. A vendor may integrate the new system by selecting Commercial-Off- The-Shelf equipment from various vendors so long as there are no proprietary restrictions or only one single source for procurement without specific prior government approval. Any source code developed shall be turned over to the Government so the Government may elect to utilize the services of a 3rd party for service/parts/repairs.

Question No 2:

Can the on-scene technical assistance time frame requirement be extended beyond 4 hours for the East, Gulf and West Coasts?

Answer:

Paragraph 4.5.8.2 has been revised to drop the service hour requirement.
