1. Item 3.7- Paragraph 3.7.3.4- What tanks have to be filled for the boundary test?

GU – The boundary testing was called out by ABS. It is NOAA’s understanding that a tank is filled full with adjacent tanks empty to validate integrity. Fluid (assuming city water) can be re-used/transferred to like tanks, Ballast to Ballast, Fuel to Fuel, etc.

2. Item 3.7 -Paragraph 3.7.3.12- Question 2 in Amendment 0002- Does that mean Paragraph 3.7.3.12 has been deleted?

GU – 3.7.3.12 is a carryover from a previous specification and is no longer required. Paragraph

3.7.3.12 is deleted.

3. Item 3.2 - Are the shafts coming out of the vessel? The specifications say to drawn shafts back to remove couplings only. Specifications do not say anything about removing shafts.

GU – No, based on the design of the system. If required, it will be handled via CFR.

4. Item 3.2 - Paragraph 3.2.3.7.1- Can you provide drawings for the rudders and steering.

GU – 562-6233911 – Rudder Stock Bearing Arrangement is provided mailto:Michelle.Blake@noaa.gov

5. Item 3.2 - Paragraph 3.2.3.7.1 #13- 15, should say any corrective actions to be submitted on CFR.

Don’t know how much welding there will be and how much machining will have to accomplished.

GU – For bidding purposes the Contractor shall assume restoration of the spigot to original specification using proper welding procedures and preparations. “For Bidding purposes assume restoration back to original spigot dimensions (0.25” (1/4”)) of material. Provide CFR with actual readings and restoration needed”. Provide CFR with actual readings and restoration needed. Contractor shall submit CFR for this work to document the corrective actions to document to actions. See Specification Rev. 2.

6. Item 3.21 - Amendment 0002 Section A. #1c- Add “10 Barter type deck sockets. Do you have a model number? Never heard of that type of deck socket. Is it electrical or for a tie down?

GU – Typo, the deck sockets shall support Baxter Bolts. It is used to secure equipment only. See Specification Rev. 2.

7. Item 3.6 & Item 3.13 - In regards to work item 3.6, the POC email and phone number listed in the item are not valid. The phone number states it has been disconnected or no longer in service, the email returns saying undeliverable. In regards to work item 3.13, the contact information for N Waller should be n_waller@prodigy.net. The Spec lists it as n.waller@prodigy.net.

GU – The email was a typo. N_waller@prodigy.net is correct. 251-421-7040 is the correct phone.

See Specification Rev. 2.

8. In regards to Work Item 5.5, paragraph 5.5.3.6.1 states to …Provide the services of a Factory Authorized Representative on-site … Please provide the make/model of the generators and/or a factory authorized representative.

mailto:n_waller@prodigy.net mailto:n.waller@prodigy.net mailto:N_waller@prodigy.net

GU – Items 5.7 and 5.8 are overlapping. The Government has ordered the subject GFM. The AC Chillers are much longer lead time then the Refrigeration Systems. 5.7 is our ultimate goal and NOAA is monitoring the delivery of the AC Chillers. 5.8 installs the Refrigeration plants since we have confidence they will arrive before the start of the repair period.
