GU – Duplicate requirement. Removed from 3.22.3.3.

23. What is the fluid type in the hydraulic tank of 3.21.3.10.5?

GU – NOAA typically use Bio Fluids. DT10 EXCELL 68

24. Could you please clarify 5.1.3.8.1 or provide a diagram explaining? This item says both that P426 shall not be disturbed and are to be disconnected and removed.

GU – Cable labeled P426 was disconnected and re-routed to the Suez Canal Light in the same space. All other circuit P426 downstream cables, P426A and P426B were left undisturbed. They are to be removed and are short cable runs within the EDG room. We are re-using the old conversion equipment and power panel off the Emergency Switchboard.

25. Please clarify both the number of fans and the extent of things covered by “etc” in 3.21.3.9.3.

GU – “etc” refers to any and all material needed to support a fully functioning installation.

There are components installed that are not labeled that need to be replaced to restore the space after the insert in installed and removed as part of the interference removals. This may be redundant to 3.21.3.2 statement but implies this is not a complete listing of material that will be new.

26. To what preparation quality is 3.33.3.4.5?

GU – See Quality Assurance for preparation quality.

27. Is a ships geometry file available? If so, please provide to aid in the pricing of the inclining experiment. If no ships geometry file is available, are hull form drawings (that include rudder shape, and size details as well as tank data) or a 3d ships model available in order to generate a geometry file?

GU – File provided for recent change to new stability software. Herbert – ABS is currently transitioning this software on all NOAA vessels with additional years to update software and answer questions.

28. 3.6.3.7‐ following the 100 gallon flush, what is the capacity of the tanks for which the contractor needs to provide replacement?

GU – Post flushing the tank is not filled full. The actual level is determined by the OEM.

30. 3.12.3.1.3‐ Is the FRB accompanying the vessel upon arrival?

GU – Yes it will arrive with the vessel.

31. 5.13‐ is the area not prepared with sp‐3 to be washed by the contractor before coatings application?

GU – See REV-1 painting update. If not clear, please ask again.

32. 3.4.3.3‐ To what standard shall the winch be prepared prior to priming?

GU – See REV-1 painting update. If not clear, please ask again.

33. Please provide the nameplate information of both the DESH-5 and COM-7X motors.

GU – Data sheets from the tech manual provided.

34. Please provide the testing weight quantities for the equipment listed in 3.10.3.1.

GU – Not clear what is being asked. Weight handling data plates are on each device. The largest required weight is around 8500 pounds.

35. Altec Service, the only locatable factory authorized service techs for Effer cranes, is unwilling to quote on the crane without express permission from NOAA to release a quote.

Could you please release such authorization in written form, provide the contact information for another OEM service organization, or remove the OEM authorization requirement for service companies?

GU – Matt Svoboda at 816-877-6828, matt.svoboda@altec.com for quoting this item.

36. NOAA’s GU + FY22+ Drydock+ Spec + May_12, page 58, paragraph 3.21.4.1 Second sentence reads, “Note both winches are being overhauled in Items 3.4 and 3.5.” Paragraph 3.5 Sea Valve Overhauls does not address overhauling the COM‐7. What are the requirements for the COM‐7 overhaul?

GU - Specification updated to delete 3.5.

37. Requested Drawings- --3.37.1.5, 3.37.1.6, 3.37.1.7 --5.1.1.1, 5.1.1.2 --5.2.1.1 --5.3.1.1 --5.7.1.1 thru 5.7.1.14
