Description of work: Randy Leisure has enrolled approximately 15 acres of his property into the Wetland Reserve Easement program. This job sheet gives recommendations for seeding the Northern field outside of the wetland pockets. The northern field is a mono-culture of switchgrass, use mix "A" on this field. The overall goal of this seed mix is to ensure beneficial species establish on the site as soon as possible. Seeding will be achieved by frost seeding the site. ***See additional job sheets for the other areas to be seeded.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE (Check all that apply)
□ Maintain the health of the plant community by controlling competing vegetation, as needed, until the desired trees and shrubs area established. Do not conduct maintenance practices and activities during the primary reproductive period of wildlife.
□ Control access by vehicles and/or equipment during or after tree/shrub establishment to protect new plants and minimize erosion, compaction and other site impacts.
□ Inspect the site (frequency) following planting, seeding, and/or natural regeneration for (duration) to determine whether the survival rate for tree and shrubs meets practice and client objectives. Replant or provide supplemental planting when survival is not adequate. Maintain at least 70% (inclusive of natural regeneration) of the original plant stocking for the entire practice lifespan.
□ Inspect the trees and shrubs (frequency), and protect them from adverse impacts of insects, diseases, competing vegetation, fire, livestock, wildlife, and non-functioning tree shelters and/or weed barriers.
□ Inspect and maintain installed plant protection structures (regeneration area protection fencing and tree shelters).
□ Control plant species on the Federal or State invasive species and noxious weed lists using mechanical or chemical methods.

□ Other (specify) _____________________________________________________________________

Text62: Tree shall be protected with 5 foot tubes with a flared edge at the top and perforations so they can split to accomodate tree diameter. Tubes will be buried 2 inches in the ground at the bottom and staked with sturdy 1"x1" hardwood stakes. Tubes will be zip-tied to stakes with 2 zip-ties. Soil around the trees will be level with the growth node and soil firmed back around the tree after planting. Bird nets shall be installed on the top of the tube and removed when the tree gets within a foot of the top of the tube, before the tree grows into the net. Herbicide (Burndown year 1-3, and pre-emergent years 2 and 3) shall be applied in a 3-4 foot diameter circle to remove competing vegetation from around the base of the tree each spring for the planting year and two consecutive years. Straighten and rebury tubes yearly. Trees will be planted in clumps throughout the area identified as tree planting. Select areas that vary in topography. A mix of trees shall be in each clump.
