About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Amendment 02 to federal contract 12FPC126Q0041, addressing excavation and clearing work for the Don Knoblett project.
The document clarifies four key requirements for contractors: (1) no payment or performance bond is required; (2) grubbed trees of all sizes must be placed at two locations specified on the project plans; (3) mulchers may be used for tree clearing, but roots must be grubbed to a minimum depth of 6 inches or until all roots larger than 1 inch are removed per specification, with mulched debris subsequently moved to the pool area along with other earthen grub material; and (4) contractors are responsible for monitoring site and river conditions to manage moisture control at earthfill placement locations within specification requirements, particularly at the lower-elevation ditch plug areas which are susceptible to river back-flooding and standing water accumulation during wet conditions.
