Albany, CA Medical Waste Services Q&A
Q1: What is the quantity we are pricing?
A1: The average generation quantity is 500lbs per week as stated in the Statement of Work sections 1.1 and 3.1.
Q2: How do we submit pricing?
A2: There should be a weekly price for the 52 weeks of the base year and also each of the option years. The weekly price will be multiplied by 52 and the base year and all option years added together for a total evaluated price. Please consult the Terms and Conditions attachment for more information.
Q3: There is no California permit to incinerate waste, will a transfer permit for out of state incineration work. Waste is also disposed of by alternate methods.
A3: The SOW para. 3.3 states “disposal of medical waste by incineration or other acceptable treatment method” The evaluation factors require proof of the ability to legally incinerate waste. The contractor’s proposal shall demonstrate how the contractor will legally incinerate waste that requires incineration. If waste is incinerated out of state, then a transfer permit and summary of the process would suffice. If an alternate method of disposal is used (other acceptable method) which is lawful, that should be described in detail.
