QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q: Is it the contractor’s responsibility to get a SWPPP?

ANS: No, the contractor will not be required to get a NOI or SWPPP with the water board.

However, they will be responsible for erosion control measures, such as monitoring and preparing for any precipitation, placing fiber rolls below any disturbed ground, and protecting the creek while cutting the concrete abutment walls.

Q: Can the contractor draft out of the creek?

ANS: Yes, the contractor can draft limited amounts of water out of the creek. A screen will be required.

Q: Can the contractor camp on site?

ANS: Yes, the contractor can camp on site with the permission of the CO. A portable restroom (such as a porta-potty) will be required.

Q: What will the contractor do with the superstructure?

ANS: The contractor shall disassemble and transport the metal superstructure components (Bailey bridge components) to the Bridgeport District Warehouse (7480 Buckeye Rd, Bridgeport, CA 93517). The remainder of the bridge components getting demolished shall be disposed of off-site by the contractor.
