Sheet1
| DOCUMENT | REFERENCE | GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSE | AMEND. REQD? | |
| Gen | Can an ATV/UTV access the bridge location, what about a pickup truck? | The trail is single track and is accessible by dirt bike (expert riders), motorcycle, no ATV/UTV | NO | |
| Gen | If a helicopter is used, where would the staging area be for the lift and the drop for existing bridge? | |||
| Contractor needs to make their own determination of the staging area. | NO | |||
| Gen | Is a site visit going to be scheduled? | |||
| Site is open to the public, visit as required | NO | |||
| Gen | Page 2 shows a High Clearance Road. Please describe this road, is it paved, gravel, 2 lane, width. |
| Road 181 is a single lane native surfaced road that is maintained for high clearance vehicles. Passenger car traffic and surface smoothness is not a consideration. | NO | |
| Gen | From the end of the road to the bridge, how many feet/miles is it? | |
| Contractor can determine this distance from the Vicinity Map on Sheet 2. | NO | |
| Gen | Will a SWPP Plan be needed from an engineer? Or can we submit BMPs with a plan because it is under 1 acre. |
| A SWPP Plan from an engineer will not be required. Contractor will be required to submit a Soil Erosion and Pollution Control Plan (Spec. 157) that contains BMPs, design features, etc. that will minimize soil erosion and reduce pollution, etc. | NO | |||
| Gen | Will the trail need to remain open to the public? | |||
| Trail will remain open to the public except for the immediate area surrounding the new bridge. That area will be closed to the public during construction of the new trail bridge. | NO | |||
| Gen | Are any permanent signs required? | |||
| No, permanent signs are not required. | NO | |||
| Gen | Riprap and backfill. Will we need to bring in riprap/fil or can we use the surrounding rocks? | |||
| Sheet 2 has a note about the riprap | ||||
| Gen | Page 4 shows a detail of the bridge (* clear width), What is the clear width of the bridge? | |||
| Clear width is listed on Sheet 4, Design Criteria | NO | |||
| Gen | Do you have the weight of existing bridge, or ancipated weight of the new bridge? | |||
| No | NO | |||
| Gen | The plans call for a concrete grade beam, can you provide the dimensions for this? Can a concrete abutment be poured in place per the FP14? | |||
| The minimum size of the concrete grade beam is shown and listed on Sheet 5. The Contractor shall prepare and submit complete grade beam details with the proposed superstructure design and shop drawings, per FSSS 571. | NO | |||

| Contractor can visit the project site or perform their own analysis to make their own determination of expected water level. | NO | |||
| Gen | An erosion and pollution control plan is required. Where can find information on the requirements? | |||
| Specification 157 | NO | |||
| Gen | The grade beams are bigger than typical and it will take a very large helicopter to mobilize them. Typically this size machine would cost between 30k and 40k just to mob in plus helicopter time for the actual movement of material. Plus they are very hard to obtain during fire season. There would be a huge cost savings if the beams could be cast in pieces and bolted together on site or if we cast the concrete in place. Are those options acceptable? | |||
| Contractor shall prepare and submit grade beam details with the proposed superstructure design and shop drawings, per the plans and FSSS. | NO | |||
| Gen | Would government consider an extension? | Yes, submission date extended, 16 August 2024, 4:00 P.M., CDT | YES |
