SPECS – Drying Oven for Plant and Soil Samples
Disconnect, remove, dispose of existing oven (oven 2 labeled on attached floorplan). Disassembly of electric motors above oven may be done prior to removal of oven from room. Existing oven is a Thermcraft brand, outer dimensions are 8’ wide x 10’ deep x 11’1” tall (including motors).
Deliver, install, and connect the new oven to include all electrical connections.
Room where oven is to be placed has a roll up overhead entry door with 9’6” wide x 11’8” tall clearance and an unloading dock for access. Room dimensions are 41’ x 32’. Overhead ductwork, lights, and conduit are existing to consider when removing oven and placing new oven into working space. Room height is limited in areas, minimum height measured below ductwork in the install area is 10’0”’ to maneuver around. Ovens may need to be disassembled for removal and installation.
Maximum footprint to place new oven in place of old oven is 10’ wide, 11’ deep.
Oven requirements:
Large walk-in / truck-in oven with bi-parting doors.
Interior minimum dimensions at least 8’6” deep, 5’ wide x 6’ high. Interior maximum dimensions not to exceed 10’ deep x 8’ wide x 8’ high.
Steel interior with minimum 6” insulation in walls, doors, and ceiling.
Minimum 2” thick insulated floor with loading truck wheel guide tracks.
Electric 480 3 phase.
Solid-state relays.
Door safety limit switch that shuts off the oven when the doors are opened.
Controls to set temperature and see current temperature within the oven. Also include high temperature limit controller.
Modulating damper for fresh air to assist low temp stabilization.
Forced air exhaust to assist exhausting hot air through the roof.
Typical operating temperature range a minimum 140°F (60° C) to maximum 149° F (65° C), must maintain temperature within 1° and with uniformity throughout the chamber for typical run times of 170 hours.
Site visit to review working space strongly recommended prior to quote submittal on this solicitation.
