About this file
This document outlines specifications for a clinical chemistry analyzer being procured by the Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service Field Research Implementation and Information Delivery Plains Area. The analyzer must be able to measure a variety of chemistry and immunoassay tests from different human study requirements using sample volumes less than 20 microliters. It should have high throughput capabilities with no need for manual offline reagent preparation and long onboard reagent stability of over 100 days to reduce costs. The system is required to have auto calibration for chemistry tests, long calibration stability, carryover evasion techniques without sample-reagent mixing, and include an ion selective electrode. It must also have a historical record of reliable reagents, equipment, and service support. Dimensionally, the analyzer must fit within the specified space of 4.2 inches wide, 2.9 inches deep, and 3.5 inches high. The related federal contract opportunity is soliciting offers for a Roche Cobas C 303 clinical chemistry analyzer or equal to meet the specifications.

Clinical Chemistry Analyzer
Specificaons (Salient/Generic Characteriscs or Compability Requirements) Revision 1
• have a broad tesng menu to handle tests from different human study requirements. Ability to measure at minimum, hs-CRP, total cholesterol, HDL direct, LDL direct, triglycerides, cystan-C, creanine, glucose, HbA1c, albumin, alkaline phosphate, urea, nitrites, and total protein.
• high-throughput capabilies
• no reagent preparaon; all reagents be ready to load on the analyzer without any manual off-line preparaon or requirement to wait to allow them to be ready to load on the instrument.
• AutoCal for chemistry tests and long calibraon stability, which means cost savings
• ability to measure sample volumes less than 20 microliters; the less sample volume required, the less blood we need to draw from study parcipants
• long on-board stability of reagent >100 days, which means cost savings
• carryover evasion
• In order to reduce the possibility of carry-over between tests, the system does not require a sample-reagent mixer that is reused between mulple samples.
• commitment to reducing solid waste from packaging, water in reagents, and carbon footprint by shipping less reagents because of their stability
• computer does not need to be connected to the internet/network; soware allows for predicve load list that makes loading reagents and supplies much easier and faster.
• includes ion selecve electrode
• historical reliability of reagents, equipment, and service support based on the long partnership with
WHNRC
• analyzer must fit in the space provided: 4.2 W x 2.9 D x 3.5 H
