Statement of Work Payson Granite Dells Road Gate Replacement Payson Ranger District Payson Administrative Site 03/16/23
Project Scope:
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and tools, including incidentals, necessary for the replacement of the Granite Dells Road gates at the Payson Administration Site. This project consists of removing and disposing of the existing gates and installing new solar operated sliding gates. Installation shall include new V-track, chain link gates, barbwire, solar-powered operators, entry controller, ground sensor and pre-programmed remotes.
Project Location:
Payson Administrative Site is located on the Tonto National Forest, Payson Ranger District. The project site is on Forest Service property. From Phoenix take AZ-202 Loop East to Exit 13 for AZ 87 and head north for 75 miles. Turn right onto Highway 260 for half a mile and then turn right onto Granite Dells Road. At the traffic circle, take the second exit and stay on East Granite Dells Road for 325 feet. The Payson Administrative Site Granite Dells Road gate is on the left.
Summary of work:
Work Item: Mobilization, including bonding cost Mobilization shall include payment for personnel, equipment, material, bonding costs and incidentals to mobilize to and from the project site for the completion of this project.
Work Item: Demolish and Remove Existing Gate and Hardware Demolish and Remove Existing Gate and Hardware includes all work necessary to:
a. Remove and dispose of the existing swing gate and hardware off National Forest lands.
b. Demolition work shall be confined as closely as possible to the existing gate. The Contractor may stage within the Payson Administrative Site, at a location agreed upon with the District Representative and shall remain off of Granite Dells Road right-of-way as much as practicable.
c. Temporary fencing shall be provided to secure the site until the new gate is installed and lockable.
Work Item: Install Solar Operated Gates and Controller Install Solar Operated Gates and Controller includes all work necessary to:
a. Install 24 feet of concreted V-track across the gate opening.
b. Install two new sliding gates each 6 feet tall and 14 feet long, topped with 3 strand barbwire 1 foot high. Each gate shall be made of chain link fencing with front V-wheels compatible with the new V-track, and new back rollers installed on existing fence line.
c. Install two master/slave Patriot Solar Slide Gate Operators with solar panels or approved equivalent. Each operator shall include charge controllers, harnesses, gel batteries, keypad, and receiver.
d. Install an entry controller with programmable keypad, and two concrete-filled, steel pipe, protective bollards flanking the controller. Final entry controller and bollard locations will be coordinated with the District Representative.
e. Install a ground sensor for exiting the gate.
Work Item: Gate Remotes Gate Remotes is for each gate remote programmed to the new gate controller with fresh batteries. Gate Remotes will be given to the District Representative.
Project Submittals:
Contractor shall submit for approval product literature and appropriate catalog cuts for project equipment and appurtenances including:
· Project Schedule
· Gate
· Gate Controllers
· Gate Remote Submittals shall be submitted to the COR no later than 5 days after receiving the Notice-to-Proceed.

MEASUREMENT
Method of measurement for each work item is shown on the SCHEDULE OF ITEMS.
PAYMENT
The accepted quantity, measured as provided above, will be paid at the contract price per unit of measurement for the pay item listed below that is designated in the SCHEDULE OF ITEMS.
Contract Time
Work shall be completed within 15 calendar days of the Notice-to-Proceed. Contractor must begin work within 10 days of the effective date of the Notice to Proceed. Work must be planned and executed in a way that limits interference with public recreation and Forest Service operations.
