Project Solar Batteries Frenchman Work Center

General Information

1.0 Scope of Work

The goal of this project is to replace the existing batteries in the Frenchman Work Center Solar System and recycle the old batteries.

2.0 Background

The Frenchman Work Center is a remote work center located in Plumas County. It consists of an Engine Bay building with offices and a barracks with a capacity to sleep 10. It supports a total of 6-15 fire personnel at any given time.

Because it is a remote work center, it has no access to grid-tied electricity. Therefore, the work center solely functions off of a solar system with a back-up generator. The solar system has (14) lithium-ion batteries that have failed and no longer function thus the entire system cannot operate. The generator is a stand-by generator meant for short spans of use, not continuous duty. Therefore, immediate replacement of the batteries is needed.

3.0 Location
