About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the 127EAW25R0021 - GAOA, TNF Barracks Deferred Maintenance project from the U.S. Forest Service. The RFI contains 36 detailed questions and responses covering various aspects of a maintenance project for barracks in the Tahoe National Forest, including specific requirements for HVAC replacement, lighting, windows, electrical work, smoke detectors, and hazardous materials handling. Key details include a small business set-aside for a project valued between $1-5 million, with proposal due dates extended to July 24th, 2025.
The RFI responses provide specific technical guidance for contractors, such as using 14-inch round LED flush mount lights with 4000k color, white décor-style electrical switches, wired smoke detectors, and following 2018 Facilities Standards for the Public Buildings Service (P100). The project involves multiple buildings with varying maintenance needs, including window replacements, HVAC updates, electrical panel replacements, and conversion of mechanical spaces. Contractors are advised to avoid disturbing asbestos-containing materials and to use construction methods that minimize potential hazardous material exposure.
