REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) OFFICIAL RESPONSES
127EAW23R0042 - San Marcos Well Drilling
RFI responses will be responded to as necessary in amendment format which will be posted to the solicitation via beta.SAM.gov
Telephone requests for information will not be accepted or returned.
RFI #1 – What is the size of the casing and type of material the casing is to be? ( PVC, Steel, Stainless Steel ).
USFS Response – Steel, 8 inches.
RFI #2 – Is there specific gravel packing required ?
USFS Response – filter pack (gravel pack) should ideally be slightly larger than the size of the slots in the well screen. Filter material must be clean to minimize filter pack collapse and reduce any contaminates being introduced into the well. Well-rounded and sorted grains should be used since they will reduce drawdown, increase water yield, and allow for more effective development of the water well.
RFI #3 – Any site grading that needs to be done to get the necessary equipment on site?
USFS Response – Site is relatively flat. No site grading will be needed.
