REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) OFFICIAL RESPONSES

127EAW22R0062 - Regional Office Lobby Remodel

RFI responses will be responded to as necessary in amendment format which will be posted to the solicitation via beta.SAM.gov

Telephone requests for information will not be accepted or returned.

RFI #1 – Can the safety manager, QA and superintendent be the person?

USFS Response – Yes

RFI #2 – What make/model LED lightbar will be used under countertop?

USFS Response – AspectLED/ Model: AL-LB-LP-24

24" LED Under Cabinet Low Profile Light Bar; or equivalent.

Lights will need to be linked together to cover the entire length of the countertop with one end capped and the final end in a Jbox/switch. Lighting temperature should be Day White.

RFI #3 – Please provide a Hazardous Materials Survey Report if available. Please advise on the following:

a) Is there lead in the white paint on the drywall/column wrap?

b) Is there asbestos in the drywall/joint tape compound?

c) Is there asbestos on the mastic/under the teal floor tiles (if impacted)?

d) Is there asbestos in the plaster/drywall wrap around column (this will potentially be disturbed while removing the connected drywall bulkhead)?

USFS Response – Asbestos abatement was conducted prior to the FS moving into the building.

The entire lobby area was gutted and rebuilt as part of the building renovation. All sheet rock is of FS (Forest Service) installation. The columns are a FS addition that were install as part of the building renovation and were put in as part of the lobby expansion. There is no asbestos any of the existing materials and there is no lead in the white paint.

RFI #4 – Are we to demo this shelving as shown? It is in conflict with the new cushion bench.

USFS Response – the bookshelf is not to be demo’d. The cushion will replace the current cushions. The bookshelf is to remain and be protected during construction.

RFI #5 – The solicitation states that the contract time is 60CD from issuance of NTP. The blast-resistant curtainwall production takes a minimum of 4 months so the 60CD contract duration will not suffice. Please advise if the 60CD can commence when the blast-resistant curtainwall is available.

USFS Response – The FS intention is to make an award and for the NTP & period of performance to begin when “boots on the ground” work is to commence. The 60 day Period of

Performance will not include submittals or long lead time items.
