About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for fence construction and maintenance services on the Coconino National Forest in Arizona.
The contractor is required to construct approximately 3 miles of new livestock pasture fence on the Black Bill Allotment, consisting of both 4-strand allotment fencing (top 3 wires barbed, bottom wire smooth) and 3-strand pasture fencing (top 2 wires barbed, bottom wire smooth), all built to Forest Service standards. The contractor must roll up and remove approximately 3 miles of existing fence from the Lockwood Springs and Barney Pastures on the Windmill West Allotment and conduct hazard tree removal along approximately 3 miles of pasture fences. The work includes fence right-of-way clearing and removal of dead trees that could fall on the fence, with high-density hazard tree felling estimated at 60+ hazard trees per mile. All fence materials must be made in the USA with specific requirements: Red Brand equivalent barbed wire (2-point select, Class I, 5" barb spacing, 12.5 gauge, 1320' rolls), 6-foot metal T-posts with ATSM specifications, Bar None metal braces for H-braces and breakaway braces, 14-gauge galvanized tie wire, and wood stays (1.75" x 1.75" to 2" x 2", 48 inches length) made from Ponderosa pine, Douglas Fir, Juniper, or Spruce. The contractor must supply all materials, tools, equipment, supervision, transportation, and safety equipment necessary to complete the project and follow Standard Specifications and the Standard Fire Plan. Work is located on the Flagstaff Ranger Districts in Coconino County, Arizona, spanning multiple sections across three townships.
