About this file

This is a Questions and Answers/Additional Information document supporting a solicitation for well pump system repair and access route maintenance at Quemado Lake Recreation Site on the Gila National Forest. The document provides detailed scope clarification in response to contractor inquiries and specifies the exact deliverables and performance requirements for the project.

The scope of work requires contractors to remove and replace failed well pump system components with specified equipment: one 1.5 horsepower, 5 gallons-per-minute Goulds submersible pump and motor assembly; one 1.5 horsepower control box compatible with the installed pump motor; and one PumpTec Plus pump protection device or approved equivalent. Installation tasks include removal and proper disposal of existing failed components in accordance with New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) standards, installation per manufacturer specifications, electrical connections and grounding integration, startup and functional testing, and documentation of installed equipment with test results provided to the Contracting Officer's Representative. Additionally, contractors must perform minor maintenance on approximately 250–300 linear feet of existing unsurfaced access route by clearing vegetation and obstructions, regrading the dirt surface to remove impediments, and restoring natural drainage—work limited strictly to the existing corridor footprint. All work must comply with federal, state, and local codes; National Electrical Code standards for electrical work; OSHA safety requirements; and NMED standards. Deliverables include a fully operational well pump system, passable dirt access route, as-built documentation with component details and test results, and final inspection and acceptance documentation signed by the COR.
