About this file

This file contains Requests for Information (RFIs) and answers related to Solicitation 12639526Q0031 for boiler blowdown drainpipe repair services at a facility in Corpus Christi. The RFIs clarify key project parameters and contractor requirements for executing the drain line repair work.

Regarding supervision and quality assurance, a single superintendent may fulfill supervision, safety, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) roles provided the individual is not a working superintendent. Contractors are required to prepare contract-specific QA/QC and Safety Plans, though submission with the initial quote is not mandatory. The scope of work focuses on repair of the existing drain line rather than full replacement; replacement would only occur if necessary and would require negotiation of a modification. As-built drawings are not available, but contractors may obtain a video recording from a previous plumbing scope posted on SAM, and may need to conduct their own camera inspection to fully assess repair requirements and identify any separated pipe sections. If full replacement becomes necessary, the existing cast-iron floor drain must be replaced only if damaged and deemed unusable.
