About this file
This file contains additional Requests for Information (RFIs) related to Solicitation 12639526Q0031 for boiler blowdown drainpipe repair services at a facility in Corpus Christi operated by the Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. The RFIs address three key technical questions regarding the repair approach and site conditions.
The questions focus on whether tunneling underneath the building would be acceptable to replace the boiler drain line, with a preference stated for a targeted repair approach that minimizes concrete removal if the issue is limited to a separated pipe section. The second RFI confirms that the wall behind the large white tank is an exterior wall. The third RFI inquires whether the existing drain line runs 17-25 feet to an exterior wall, to which the government response indicates the extent of the drain line is unknown. These RFIs indicate the government is evaluating the scope and feasibility of the repair work and seeking clarification on site-specific conditions that will influence contractor proposals.

Solicitation 12639526Q0031, additional RFIs
1. Would it be acceptable to tunnel underneath the building to replace the boiler drain line? We believe the issue is limited to a section of pipe that has separated. If feasible, we would prefer a targeted repair approach that involves removing only the concrete necessary to access and correct the separation.
1. Looking at the first photo uploaded, is the wall behind the big white tank an exterior wall? Yes
1. Does the existing drain line run 17-25’ to an exterior wall? We don’t know.
