STATEMENT OF WORK

PREVENATIVE MAINTENACE FOR WATER CHIILER AND HVAC UNITS

1.1 General

The purpose of this Statement of Work is to provide USDA-APHIS-PPQ Salinas Facility a contract that will provide preventative maintenance work for one (1) TAE-EVO-051 water chiller and for seven (7) Bard 2-Ton

HVAC units.

1.2 Background

The Salinas California Station conducts activities for the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and

Plant Inspection Services (APHIS). The station is located at 1636 E Alisal Street Salinas CA 93905.

The TAE chiller supports the operation of a RS2400 Xray irradiator used for research on sterile insect technology to support PPQ emergency response programs. The seven (7) Bard HVAC units maintain the temperature for project insect rearing facilities contained in 3 10 x 40’ modular buildings.

Building 1 (rearing): 2 Bard Units

Building 2 (egg room): 1 Bard unit, north end of building

Building 4 (experiments): 2 Bard units

Building 5 (containment/biocontrol): 2 Bard units

2. Scope of Work to be performed:

Chiller – Bi - Annual Maintenance Tasks:

a. Check refrigeration circuit.

b. Verify operations of electric cable.

c. Check and verify operations of unit.

d. Check condenser air filter, clean as needed

e. Verify Control operations

f. Review findings with operator on sight

HVAC Bi-Annual Maintenance Tasks:

a. Service and Cleaning Evaporative condensers.

b. Calibration of electronic controls.

c. Check Circulation fans.

d. Servicing and Cleaning of Evaporative coils as necessary.

e. Change Air Filters – Bi-Annual

f. Check Indoor Unit Fan Belt – Replace annually

g. Check Indoor Coil Cleanliness

h. Lubricate Indoor Fan Shaft Bearings

i. Lubricate Indoor Fan Motor Bearings

j. Check Indoor Unit Condensate Pan and Drain Line for Obstruction

k. Check Compressor Operation

3. No additional work shall be started without approval from the Government.

4. The Contractor shall provide all tools and equipment necessary to perform the work.

2. Personnel, Security, and Service

2.1 The contractor shall submit a list of names and Driver’s License Number for any employee working under this contract. The list of names and Driver’s License shall be updated as changes occur, and copies furnished to the COR.
