3RD QUESTION AND ANSWER BOARD 12639523Q0050
Q-1. Is the USDA aware of the global microchip supply chain shortage caused by the pandemic concerning enterprise class electronics used in Government? Specifically manufactures that would fit this contract would be vendors such as Crestron, Extron, and AMX to name a few. With this said equipment timelines may take up to 4 to 6 months to procure from these manufacturers. Due to the USDA’s requirement for TAA Compliant equipment few manufacturers fit this class. With this said what is the USDA expected POP on this contract?
A-1 The Trade Agreements Act (TAA) does not apply to Small Business Set Asides in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 25.401(a)(1) for the Information Technology equipment portion of this requirement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 25.103( e)
Q-2. The monitors in the room – can these monitors have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi ?
A-2 Neither WIFI nor Bluetooth is required
Q-3. Other than VTC usage in the room, would the room require other inputs to add BYOD devices? This would allow the room to add extra computer, laptops, Blu-Ray players with a simple HDMI cable. (Bring Your Own Device) – with the proper system with the three requested monitors the room could have up to three different sources to display on three different monitors.
A-3 Thought process involved in this was that APHIS staff and or Florida DPS could use the system on their own networks. Therefore only 1 device should be used at a time
Q-4. Regarding the Camera for the room, is it the intention of the USDA to use a standard hand remote to control the camera during a video conference call ? Or would the USDA prefer a touch panel unit to control the camera in the room and all the other devices? If Yes, Would the USDA prefer a touch panel control unit on the podium in the room or on the wall ?
A-4 We will evaluate the bids for what best suits the APHIS and DPS needs. Have no preference between hand remote or touch panel. Dependent on pricing submitted.
