Owner: United States Department of Agriculture

Architect: CTA Architects Engineers

800 Main St., Ste 800

Boise, Idaho 83702

NOTICE TO BIDDERS:

You are hereby notified of the following questions and responses regarding the above-mentioned project, which are made a part thereof. Questions must have been submitted formally, in writing, in order to be acknowledged and responded to. You must acknowledge receipt of these questions and responses to the Contractor on your Bid Proposal Form.

QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES (IN RED):

1. Question: The new panel ‘M1’ shown on E103 does not call out a specific manufacturer or any testing that would be required on it, on the plan or specification.

Can you please advise if a certain manufacturers are preferred, and if there are any testing requirements?

a. CTA Response – Use ‘Square D’ panelboard as existing panelboards within the building are also ‘Square D’. No testing required.

2. Question: “At the walk the walk through yesterday I noticed that the walls in the restrooms that will be demoed for the new restrooms are concrete how will the exterior walls be patch ? I would propose laminating 1/4" drywall on them, but where the demo occurred it would have to be some what smooth. Another option would be to fur the walls out with 1 5/8" studs or 7/8" hat channel. “

a. CTA Response – See Addendum 01 for design solution at these locations.

3. CTA Fire Alarm clarification - If the contractor elects to replace the fire alarm system in its entirety the contractor shall remove all unused existing conductors. Existing conduit may be abandoned in place.

4. The drawings refer to "Package #1" and also "Package #2". The specifications also have these packages listed as line items with Mobilization broken out of each. Are we to break our proposal out per these items or just have 1 lump sum item for the entire project? Or 1 lump sum and 1 mobilization?

a. CTA Response – Disregard the separation into packages – treat as one package.

5. Due to some of the dangerous materials at the Supply Depot, a specialized hazardous abatement subcontractor will have to be employed to clean up some of the areas prior to work being done in them; such as the mixing room and the cyanide room. After the abatement work is completed

http://www.ctagroup.com E-mail: info@ctagroup.com there will be a time when the government cannot conduct their normal everyday business in these rooms prior to the work being completed in them. This is also true for the ventilation systems for the building. Is there a certain time frame that you will allow for these areas to be shut down to the normal work that occurs by the government working in them?

a. CTA Response – This has been discussed with the users of the building and the government knows certain shutdowns will be occurring. With that said, coordination with the government will need to occur for scheduling these shutdowns during the construction process.

6. Is there any finish requirements for these fans? Or just galvanized?

a. CTA Response: Reference mechanical schedules.

7. Do you need a disconnect included? If so, what type (Nema) rating?

8. You show dampers drawn in between the filter banks and the fan and prior to the filter banks/ These are just hand operated dampers? What type of material? What size? Do you have a brand and model in mind?
