ELECTRICAL ADDENDUM # 1
ELECTRICAL:
SPECIFICATION ITEMS
1. Section 261314: Add this specification to the Electrical Specifications.
2. Section 260533: Clarification for paragraph 2.4 C. Schedule 40 PVC conduit will be used for the primary cable and will be encased in concrete. See attached detail DM02. All Schedule 80 PVC conduit will be for the secondary side of the transformer and will NOT be encased in concrete.
At Contractors option, they can bore primary conduits under concrete paved roads, without the portion under the concrete road being encased in concrete. All conduits passing under gravel roads will be encased in concrete. One spare 4” conduit is required on the primary side of all switches.
DRAWING ITEMS
3. Drawing E4.0A thru E4.0C: Keynotes that say (4) 1/0 cables in 4” conduit, means (3) 1/0 hot conductors and (1) 1/0 Ground.
4. Drawing E4.0A thru E4.0C: There is a 15 kv switch in front of the transformer that is a 3-phase switch. When this loop is feeding a single-phase transformer you will use two of the phase hot conductors to supply power to the single phase transformer. These phases will alternate A and B phase, then A and C phase and B and C phase, so as to balance the load on the 3-phase line.
5. Drawing E4.0A thru E4.0C: The 3-phase loop will be a Delta system.
6. Drawing E4.0A thru E4.0C: Question was raised as to the availability of a 25 kva single phase transformer. They are available.
7. Drawing E5.0: Transformer bases shall have a 2” steel drain pipe with a 2” spring return ball valve. Use a Morrison Brothers series 691A or equal.
8. Drawing E4.0: Clarification, the transformers derive the neutrals for the secondary phase. No neutral is required on the line side of SG1 Switchgear.
9. Drawings E4.0A thru E4.0C: Clarification, all references that say “capped in conduit”, shall be changed to read “encased in concrete”. See attached detail for encased conduits.
10. Drawing E4.0: The PCM meters are to have 1” PVC conduit and 16/2 conductor wire extended to Building 7 to the Building Automation System in the data room.
11. Drawing E1.0C: The pull box dimensions shown shall be changed to 48” X 48” X 36” deep.
They shall be spaced every 400’ to 500’ and shall not be placed in any roadways or ditches.
There shall be a 4” bollard at each corner of every pull box. Boxes shall be mounted flush with the ground.
12. Drawing E4.0A: The transformer for building 125 shall be replaced with a new 150 kva oil filled transformer per the oil filled transformer specification. This transformer will be place on the existing pad and shall NOT require a new pad with oil retaining basin.
13. New pad mounted switch for Bldg. 174, shall be a 4-way switch with dead front, instead of a 3-way switch. Stub two 4” PVC conduits out of the 4th compartment 5’ past the edge of the pad.
Cap conduits for future use.
