About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document providing clarifications on contract requirements for facility improvements at two sites: EADS and Southern Point.

Key requirements clarified include: abandoned sewer lines shall be capped at existing manholes rather than completely removed; water lines must be replaced to the main valve underground using copper piping only (HDPE substitution is not permitted); cleared materials become contractor property and must be removed from the project site, except for stripped topsoil designated for stockpiling; the HNF will mark trees for removal but will not locate sewer termination points at Southern Point; old toilets need not be saved; existing parking lots and gravel areas may be used for storage and parking, with contractors responsible for site security and asphalt replacement if damaged; building overhangs must remain as designed (24" eave overhang and 16" gable overhang); electrical work at Southern Point Site 30 involves connecting existing host site electrical circuit to a new toilet-shower panel; Lexan material is specified in Spec 08 45 23; custom grids must be used as dimensioned on drawings; custom Quaker Bronze color is required; work must be duplicated at the Southern Point facility; and contractors must await email notification that the building is clear of bats and other sensitive animals before commencing demolition.
