Questions and Answers for the Hoosier National Forest Springs Valley Dam Improvement Project as of June 13, 2022.

Solicitation 12445522Q0102

1. The width of the access road running along the side of the dam. The access road ranges from 10’ to 12’.

1. A contractor asked about access below the rip rap for placing it. I stated the lake is currently down for other work, but the plan is not leave it down for this work the original thought was to access the rip rap from the top side.

1. The thickness of the proposed rip rap. The maximum thickness would be 24” +/-.

1. The guardrails along the road are an option to removes couple sections for bringing in the rip rap material. The contractor will be allowed to remove a couple sections including the post. It will be his responsibility for replacing the sections removed and restoring the area around it.

1. I mention the trees and brush along the existing area could be removed by a separate contract. But I also stated it is the contract for the contractor to remove it and they were given options on the removal. Based on the timing the separate contract will not be able to remove the material based on the timeframe of the contract.
