Q&A
1. Are the rates provided considered ceiling rates for the life of the project?
Rates are generally “locked” for the duration of the contract, but subject to negotiation under extenuating circumstances.
2. Can the key personnel as defined for this project, Project Supervisor / Superintendent, be dual hat?
Yes, one person can serve multiple functions; the important concept is there is always someone on site with authority to represent the contractor.
3. Is the mobilization pricing based on each piece of equipment deployed, or each task awarded?
Mobilization is based on the total task, not by piece of equipment.
4. Can tree debris for clearing and grubbing be disposed of onsite?
Generally, debris can be scattered on site, specific requirements for removal would be addressed in individual task orders by negotiation.
5. How many acres of clearing and grubbing are anticipated for each year?
That is an unknown quantity that is budget dependent. Clearing and grubbing is incidental to culvert replacements. The amount will be shown in each task order and depends on the number and the location of those replacements.
6. Do equipment rentals include mobilization cost?
Mobilization should be built into rates.
7. What is the minimum equipment rental period per piece? 1 hour, 1 week, or 1 month?
There is no minimum equipment rental period. Equipment rental is paid for by the hour and would normally be in ‘day’ increments.
