Questions and Answers

1) One of the requirements is to be certified through the National Roof Certification and Inspection Association (NRCIA). The NRCIA is an organization that focuses on residential housing and insurance claims. How did the NRCIA get into this solicitation? I am very interested to learn how the NRCIA made it into a government contract. Could you please let me know if this can be revised to include other certifications in lieu of the NRCIA?

The solicitation and statement of work was amended to NRCIA certification was removed and replaced with IIBEC certification.

2) Who is the incumbent contractor for this project? FJA CHRISTIANSEN ROOFING CO INC

3) What is the current contract number? 12444822P0035, Last time inspected was on 4/28/2022

4) What is the total value of the existing contract? 4,810.00 – Spring Inspection Only

5) Can all the roofs be inspected within the same time frame, example all roof inspected within a two week block persay? No Problem

6) And I would like to know is bonding is required, I cannot seem to find that requirement in the solicitation? No bonding is required.

7) Could you provide the addresses for the building so we can perform accurate take-offs?

The buildings are located on FPL Campus at One Gifford Pinchot Dr., Madison, WI 53726

8) Is this the first time this contract is being issued? If not, who's the incumbent?

No, The incumbent was FJA Christiansen Roofing Co Inc.

9) Is there any specific information and format they would like to see in the proposal such as Insurance is, Sampol work, past performances, etc.? Attached to the RFQ is an experience questionnaire and Solicitation 12444824Q0018.

10) Does Forest Products Laboratory have any site-specific safety requirements?

No. FPL staff and any contractors need to follow OSHA standards.

11) The steam/vapor exhaust from the roof of Building 50 – is this hazardous?

12) Volatiles in the preservation laboratory below are removed by the air filtration system. The vapor is steam. FPL will inform the contractor of any planned research work in the lab if it coincides with roof inspections, out of an abundance of caution.

13) Costs under $2,500 / below the micropurchase threshold are eligible for direct ordering to any vendor registered in SAM.gov. Costs over $2,500 need to be solicited competitively.
