About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing vendor inquiries regarding a federal contract opportunity with the USDA involving inspection and testing services for 17 doors at a facility.
The scope of work encompasses inspection, drop testing, resetting, tagging, photographs, and reporting for 17 doors of varying sizes, including a 14-by-18-foot door. Repairs to doors that fail inspection are explicitly excluded from the base scope. Vendors may demonstrate the required two years of experience through proposed subcontractors and technicians performing the work, subject to approval by the contracting officer and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) during quote review. The government will not provide lifting equipment or scaffolding; however, scissor lifts may be brought into the facility, contingent upon confirmation of fit during a mandatory pre-quote site visit. Door manufacturers and model numbers will be available for collection during the site visit. Work may be scheduled during normal business hours at mutually acceptable times between September 15 and October 15, 2026. Prospective vendors must schedule their site visit with Robert Ramos at Robert.ramos@usda.gov to confirm access, equipment specifications, and obtain necessary facility information for accurate quote preparation.
