About this file

This is a Questions and Responses document for the Lake Sinclair Dump Station Repair Project (Solicitation #12444026Q0085), issued by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service. The document addresses five key inquiries from potential bidders regarding project scope and specifications.

The responses clarify that the government will not disclose pricing information to maintain fair competition. As-built drawings will be provided in their entirety in scanned format. Regarding the specific damage to the septic drain line serving the RV dump station, the government cannot definitively determine whether the issue is a busted pipe, clog, or leak without exposing the underground pipe. Similarly, the exact extent of damage and whether it exceeds 20 linear feet cannot be confirmed, though a vendor's camera inspection was partially successful before encountering a clog. The direction of pipe damage and pipe routing can be determined by interpreting the as-built drawings. The base repair work includes concrete cutting and removal around the hydrant, trench excavation with equipment and labor, jackhammering to expose the broken line, pipe removal and replacement with new piping and fittings, backfilling, concrete pouring with rough grading, and erosion control measures. Optional items include replacing two barrier wooden logs, six wooden pole logs, and two wooden signposts with installation of existing signs on new posts.

#2444026Q0085 Lake Sinclair Dump Station Repair Project Questions

1. What is the price magnitude of the project?

We do not give out pricing information otherwise it would be an unfair advantage.

2. Can we provide as-built drawings?

Yes, drawings shall be scanned and provided in their entirety.

3. What is the damage exactly, busted pipe, clog or actual leak?

Without exposing the pipe beneath the surface, do not know if anyone can answer that question definitively. One vendor on site attempted to scope with a camera but was only partially successful as the camera hit a clog.

4. How far is the damage on pipe, is it further than 20 linear feet?

Same response as for #3 above.

5. What direction is damage in and what direction is pipe going?

Interpreting the as‑built drawings may indicate the direction of the pipe.
