About this file

The file is a Q&A document for the Trapper Creek Job Corps Center Quarters Roofing solicitation (12441925Q0025), a 100% Small Business Set Aside opportunity with the Department of Agriculture Forest Service. The contract involves roofing work for Buildings 29 and 30, with an estimated value between $100,000 and $250,000. Key details include two site visits scheduled for August 14th and 26th in Darby, Montana, with a proposal submission deadline of September 16th, 2025 at 1700 EST.

The Q&A addresses specific technical inquiries, including clarification on roof diagrams for Building 29, optional sheathing line item pricing options (unit cost per sheet, lump sum per building, or total project cost), and color selection timing. Contractors are advised that field verification of measurements is their responsibility, no specific manufacturer is preferred as long as products meet specifications, and color samples can be submitted after award. A payment bond will be required prior to work commencement, and strict adherence to submission instructions is mandatory to avoid a non-responsive offer status.

1. Roof Diagram for Building 29

0. The drawings include detailed measurements for Building 30, but I haven’t located an equivalent diagram for Building 29. Could you confirm whether such a diagram or dimensional reference is available?

Building 29 and 30 are same foot print and will have similar sized roofs. NOTE: 30 has a small gable over the door which 29 does not. The measurements on the drawings are for general purposes only and field verification is the responsibility of the contractor.

1. Optional Sheathing Line Item --For the optional sheathing line, would you prefer:

1. Unit cost per sheet?

1. Lump sum per building?

1. Total cost for the entire project if all sheathing is replaced?

1. Color Selection Timing and Preferences

2. The SOW mentions coordination with Government personnel for color selection. Should color options be submitted before or with the final proposal? Is there a specific color palette or manufacturer preference the Government would like adhered to?

As long as the purposed product meets the included specifications there is no preferred manufacturer—there is a basis of design product listed in the spec for your reference. Color samples can be submitted after award.
