About this file

These are specification sections for HVAC commissioning and installation work at Harlowton Air Conditioning. The documents outline technical requirements and execution procedures for installing air conditioning systems integrated with existing forced-air furnaces in residential units.

Section 230800 (HVAC Commissioning) establishes the contractor's responsibility for commissioning the entire HVAC system, including control systems, major and minor equipment, and piping systems. Functional testing must be performed using a skilled technician familiar with the building, with demonstration to the Contracting Officer (CO) of all specified functions, correct thermostat settings, schedules, alarms, and occupancy sensor operations. All deficiencies must be corrected at no additional cost. Operation and maintenance manuals for commissioned items must be submitted to the Commissioning Provider for review and incorporation of commissioning records. Section 236313 (Condenser Systems) specifies installation of condenser coils with aluminum fins mechanically bonded to seamless copper tubing, a concrete pad extending at least 3 inches above adjacent ground, and a digital programmable thermostat without Bluetooth capability. All materials must comply with the Buy American Act or Build America, Buy America requirements. Section 260583 (Electrical) requires installation of a new 30-amp circuit with all wiring and breaker, plus a new disconnect and wiring for the condenser unit. Work must comply with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), utilize appropriate cord construction per NFPA 70 Type SO specifications, and include flexible or liquidtight flexible conduit in damp locations, strain-relief clamps, disconnect switches, and interconnecting wiring to complete equipment requirements.
