About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 1240LT26Q0097, addressing inquiries from potential contractors regarding siding replacement work at two locations: Driggs and Dubois.
The project requires replacement of siding at both the Driggs and Dubois facilities with fiber cement board, and bidders must propose for both locations. Bids must include fully-finished products with integral factory finishes. Color specifications are white siding for Dubois and log wood color for Driggs, with samples to be submitted for contracting officer approval post-award. Paint may be applied by spray or roller. Soffit and fascia work is included only for the Driggs Bunkhouse as shown in drawings. End vents may be eliminated for Dubois units where roofs will be replaced with ridge vents; existing end vents must be retained for Driggs and Dubois Bunkhouse units. Post wraps are not included in the contract. Contractors must comply with manufacturer's written installation instructions for penetrations, with pricing included in base bid items. Painting of existing doors, columns, railings, and other items to remain is excluded from the contract. Electrical meters and utilities will remain attached during construction; contractors electing to remove these items bear their own costs. At the Driggs location, a radon system vent stack must be detached during demolition, retained, and reattached after siding installation, with contractors coordinating with the contracting officer to de-energize the fan system prior to work commencement. Subcontracting is permitted as prescribed in the solicitation. Payment will follow FAR 52.232-16 Progress Payments, with the government making monthly progress payments of $2,500 or more as requested and approved by the contracting officer. Award decisions will be made in accordance with solicitation criteria and applicable regulations, with the government planning to issue awards as diligently as possible. A local dump is available at the project site.
