Questions and Answers to RFIs Received
Could you please provide the total length for the railings? I noticed a discrepancy in the provided scales. One page lists 1"=8', whereas the standard is typically 1"=10'.
Additionally, another page indicates a scale of 1:120. As there is no scale bar included to manually calibrate the pages, I want to ensure the measurements are accurate.
The provided scales are accurate: Scale on Sheet C-02 is 1”=10’ and the Scale on C-03 is 1”=8’. Each of the 3 horizontal rails is approx. 70’ long and each of the vertical post are approx. 3.75’ long.
I am trying to put together the take-off for the stair timbers. I have not found what grade material is requested. Do you want Full Sawn Rough @ 8” x 8”? STD ROUGH @ 7 ¾” x 7¾”? or S4S @ 7 ½” x 7 ½” ?
From the drawings it looks like you want the 7” above ground and about 1” below for the stairs. I was going to quote FSR 8” x 8”.
The FS wants a Full Sawn Rough 8”x8”. Yes, per Sheet C-04 the front of the tread will have 7” exposed.
I have attached the UC4B specs out of the AWPA .
• Copper Naphthenate is an oil-based treatment and will get slippery when they get wet. Being that these are stairs I was going to quote them as CCA
• If you see the note from the AWPA Douglas Fir is extremely hard to treat with
CCA.
• We would suggest “.31 CaC” waterborne treatment.
